The Portland Trail Blazers have been what my life is all about since October 30th when the regular season started. After finishing
32-50(last place) and not making the playoffs for 4 straight seasons. This Blazers lose three straight all to some of the top teams in the nba, includinbg the season opener against the 2006-2007 world champions (Spurs). Then the won 4 straight against some of best teams in the NBA. These wins included Hornets, Grizzlies, Pistons, and Mavericks. Then they go on the logest losing streak of the season which is 9 in a row. I must mention that the way the NBA is created and all pro sports is that the top teams are set up against the worst teams so the big teams keep winning and the bad ones keep losing. That's how dynastys are created in sports. With the fourth hardest schedule in the NBA the Blazers finally catch a break as they are 4-12 and have the last game of their road trip to play against the Memphis Grizzlies. With 2.5 seconds left in the game and down by 1 point Travis Outlaw hits a last second mid-air bank shot to capture the Blazers first road win of the season. It was nothing special as they only had a record of 5-12 but on that night something amazing happened. The month of December was a blur as the Portland Trail Blazers plow through some of the best teams and bad but each team played their hearts out against us. 13 game win streak. 1-Memphis 2-Miami 3- Milwaukee 4-Utah 5-Golden State 6-Utah 7-Denver 8-New Orleans 9-Toronto 10-Denver 11-Seattle 12-Minnasota 13-Philadelphia. The Blazers lose to the Utah Jazz but soon had revenge as the Blazers went on another wiun streak. 4 game win streak. 1-Minnesota 2-Chicago 3-Utah 4-Golden State. Then the Blazers headed off to their longest road trip(7) left in the season. The first game was a disapointinbg loss as the Toronto Raptors won off of a technicality in the first of two overtimes. One of the Toronto players hit a three to tie the game up and bring it to double overtime but after the game they reviewed it and his foot was on the line which would have made it a two. Then the Blazers crush the New Jersey Nets by 27 points. Then comes the biggest game of the season (so far) against the #1 team the Boston Celtics against the hottest team in the NBA (Blazers). 90-100. Blazers lose by the first of many poorly called games to come.Then blazers beat Miami Heat. Lose to Orlando Magic. Beat Atlanta Hawks. Lose to New Oreleans. Finally the Blazers will return home to the Houston Rockets(horrible). After many bad calls and many bad shots the Blazers lose their first home game since playing Indiana on November 28th. Then Blazers beat the Hawks in a last second comeback victory after being down by 19 points in the 3rd quarter. Then Blazers lose to the Cleveland Cavaliers at the last second by one point. Then another spectacular event happens as Brandon Roy whom is the reigning Rookie of the Year (ROY) is elected the the NBA Western All-Star team. Blazers then beat the New York Knicks in another come from behind victory in overtime. The Blazers at this point are back on track at 27-19 and plan on getting into 2nd place in the division. But they will have to beat Denver to do it. But Allen Iverson has other plans for the Blazers as he hits the game winning shot to put Denver up by two. Final score 103-105. Current record 27-20 3rd in division and barely in it for the playoff hunt. The Blazers will take on the Chicago Bulls at home on Wednesday 2-6-08 whom they already beat.
